30 Days of DIY: Candle Jar Repurpose

Hello again!

Today is day 2 of my 30 days of DIY 'event' (can I call it an event?)! Today I'm going to show you how to repurpose a candle jar! There are so many things you can do with these candle jars! I absolutely love it!

For the sake of my sanity, I am going to split the candle Jar DIYs up, because come on, 30 DIYs is a lot!

The first one I just used to spruce up my desk. I bought some blue stones at Dollar Tree and filled it up with those! An easy pop of color! You could do a bunch of these to add to someone's holiday décor (or keep them for yourself!).

What you need:
  • An old candle jar (I got this candle from Dollar Tree)
  • Nail polish remover or acetone
  • A knife or other sharp object (optional)
  • Rocks or decorative beads

First you need to stick your candle in the freezer for an hour or 2. This solidifies the wax so it is easier to remove.

Once you take the candle out, you will need something to help you get it out of the jar. I simply used a pocket knife and broke it into chunks.

Once the wax is out of the jar, just wash it out. It's that easy!

The tough part comes when you're removing the label. The best way to get the sticky residue off is to use some acetone or nail polish remover. It seriously comes off like butter!

Isn't this the cutest little jar? It adds the perfect accent to my desk at work!

This is a quick and easy DIY project! The plus is you can personalize it as much as you want!

Let me know what you think!

30 Days of DIY: Washi Tape Binder Clip

Hello again!

With the holidays coming up, I have decided to do 1 DIY idea per day for 30 days! So every day through December 23, I will post a DIY idea! This DIY is a continuation of my Washi Tape ideas series and is super simple! This is a great way to jazz up boring binder clips! It would also be a great gift for anyone who is super organized!

What you need:
  • Washi Tape of your choice (I got mine at Hobby Lobby)
  • Binder Clips

This is extremely simple and customizable to your taste!

All you have to do is carefully place the Washi tape on the binder clip.

Yes, that is ALL you have to do!

If you don't have a lot of money this is the perfect DIY gift! Just buy a whole bunch of binder clips and personalize them!

I put mine on my planner so I can keep track of what month I'm in! Super fun!

Let me know what you think!

Bell Pepper Bagel Sandwich

Hello again!

I was doing pretty good there for a while, but we all know I can't keep up a posting streak for long! This semester has gotten crazy busy, but it should be slowing down soon enough!

Today I'm just going to show you a quick lunch idea for those days that you need a fast and semi-healthy lunch!

Watch for more manicure ideas and outfit posts soon, as I plan on painting my nails more and coming up with some cute new outfits!

What you need:
  • Bagel (We used plain)
  • Cream cheese
  • Assorted fresh bell peppers

I think the picture explains itself, but basically all we did was cut the bell peppers up into small pieces, toast a bagel and put cream cheese on both sides, then add the bell peppers on top!

Eat it as a sandwich!

This may sound weird, but it was actually a really awesome combination!

Let me know what you guys think!

Business Casual: Maxi Skirt and Chunky Scarf

Hello again!

I am on fire this week guys! Today I am going to show you how to dress business casual on a college budget! I have to dress business casual every day, so I try to be creative, and I have to say I am pretty proud of this outfit.

If you know me, there are two things I absolutely love, scarves (I have 20 right now...not ashamed) and maxi skirts/dresses. I am always in the market for a good maxi skirt and this one from H&M is amazing! And the best part? I only paid $5 for it! If you have anywhere you love getting maxi skirts, let me know if the comments below!

Details:
  • Cardigan (My sister gave this one to me, it was from Charlotte Russe, but I can no longer find it on their site. Here is a link to one at Target!)
  • Scarf (Hand-Knit by me! Purchase here)
  • Skirt (H&M Divided)
  • Nude Flats (Payless)
  • Watch (10dollarmall.com they no longer have this watch, but they do have other styles!)
  • Earrings (Forever21 here are some that are similar)
Here is a close-up of the watch. I got this on sale for $5 and I absolutely love it! It's the perfect accessory and works great! You all really need to go check out 10Dollar Mall!

Here is a close-up of the earrings. I love buying earrings from Forever21 because they are super high quality and very inexpensive for a set! Also, if you have any issues with a set, like one of the gems was missing when I got mine, they will send you a new set for free! How awesome is that??

Like I said in my last post, watch for sales! I am all about sales, especially on 10 Dollar Mall!

What are some of your favorite sites to get deals?

Dressing Business Professional on a College Budget

Hello again!

As you all know, I'm in college and on a tight budget. Today we had a resume workshop where we meet with professionals to discuss our resumes. The dress code was business professional, which can get pricey. So I decided to show you all how you can dress business professional on a college budget! I think I will make a series out of this, as I have to dress up for work on a daily basis.

One place you can shop for dress clothes is Good Will, or any other thrift store. I find this to be sort of hit and miss, but it's always good to look! My other favorite store is 10dollarmall.com! This site is 100% legitimate, and I have ordered multiple items from them and am very satisfied with the quality of the products.

If you have any further questions about 10dollarmall.com, I would love to do a review and try on blog for you all!

This is my outfit for today and it can easily be dressed down by removing the blazer or up by adding some heels. I opted for the more comfortable route and wore some black flats. Ignore the wrinkly pants, that's from sitting all day!

Outfit Details:
  • Blazer (Maurices, I couldn't find this on their website, but you can find some nice blazers at Good Will)
  • Tan Pants (On sale at White House Black Market for $20! Originally $100!)
  • Black Flats (Payless)
  • Floral Statement Necklace and Earrings (Avon - This one is no longer sold but here is one you could substitute)
Here are close-ups of the necklace and earrings.

The most important thing to remember is to watch for sales! I very rarely pay full price for an item. Like I said, I got these pants for $20 when they are $100 pants. I got the necklace and earrings for $12 and they are normally $25. I highly recommend joining the email list at high end stores such as New York & Company and White House Black Market. You don't have to buy their full price items! I only shop in the sale section and there are some great things there!

Let me know if you like this post and want to see more!

Washi Tape Trash Can

Hello again!

I'm back at it with another Washi Tape DIY! Tommy is always throwing his trash on the floor of my car and I get so irritated! I bought a trash bin at Dollar tree and decided to spruce it up a bit!

What you need:
  • Trash Bin (Dollar Tree $1!)
  • Washi Tape (Hobby Lobby)

All you have to do for this is pick out your different Washi Tapes and wrap them around the trash bin! It's super simple and only costs a few dollars to do!

Sorry this is such a short post, but there's not a lot to it! I have to say, you all need to go to your local Dollar Tree! I have always loved Dollar Tree because you can get such great products for only a dollar!

Do you have any more Washi Tape suggestions? Comment or email me!

Washi Tape Planner Decoration

Hello again!

I still suck at posting, but on the bright side, I have been doing tons of projects, so the drafts are piling up again! My latest obsession is Washi Tape. I know, I know, a little late to the craze, but I've never been one to keep up on the trends.

There are literally hundreds of things you can do with Washi Tape, and if you're a fan of it, I'm sure you have already seen a lot of them. My dilemma when looking for ideas was that THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. So my goal with my Washi tape crafts is to be different!

I saw a lot of ideas for decorating your planner, so I had to try it out! I got my planner at Wal-Mart and it's super plain, just a solid color, nothing fancy about it. I have been absolutely obsessed with the quote, "Don't stop until you're proud" so I decided to incorporate that in my design as well.

What you need:
  • Planner (Wal-Mart)
  • Index Card
  • Sharpie
  • Washi Tape (Hobby Lobby)
  • Scissors

First, write your quote on your index card. This is optional, but I trimmed my card down so it was smaller.

Now just lay your tape over the edges of the card in the pattern you want. Don't worry about the edges being uneven, you can trim them.

Trim the excess off the edges and you're done!

I have had this done for a few weeks and I absolutely love it still! One awesome thing about Washi tape is that it is easy to remove, so if you get tired of this design, you can simply peel it off and do something different!

Let me know what you think!
