Vertical Stroke Manicure

Hello again!

Sorry that I keep going AWOL! I totally planned a posting streak, but I got sick and everything just went downhill from there. I am happy to say that I am better and I finally painted my nails last Monday after a month of them being naked!

I've seen manicures like this all over Pinterest and Instagram! I was dying to try out this blue polish I got from Avon so I figured this would be the perfect easy and quick manicure!

What you need:

The first thing you want to do is apply a coat of your base coat to protect your nails. After this is dry, apply one coat of your base polishes (blue and white) to your desired nails. I chose to alternate my colors. Once this coat is dry, apply a coat of Gelous and let dry. Now, apply another coat of your base color if needed. I only applied one coat of my blue but needed 2 of the white.

After this coat dries, begin making vertical stripes with your silver glitter polish on all of your nails. Once you're done with that, do that same with your blue and white, using blue on your white nails and white on your blue nails. My brush is a little thick so my strokes didn't turn out quite how I would have liked them to. If you have a long and thin brush, that would be the best one to use for this manicure.

Once those strokes are dry, apply a coat of your top coat and one last coat of Gelous after that.

This manicure has lasted me about 8 days and I plan to take the polish off tonight. The Gelous method has been a great help in the longevity of my manicures, I just wish my nails didn't grow so fast!

Let me know what you think! I hope to paint my nails again tonight, but I may not be able to because my sister has her last choir concert of the year, but I will definitely be posting more soon! I will have some great lunch ideas coming up as my mom and I try out some new, healthier options!
